Music
During Ernest Rutherford’s lifetime, music was becoming a national phenomenon. Johann Leowen, a Russian poet and musician, inspired a multitude of the Russian population to listen to music. Due to his protests the NKVD eventually took him into custody. While this was happening in Russia, Big band blues was the national wildfire within the US. People who previously only did instrumentals within their bands started to incorporate songs into them (Thomas 1). Big band blues was not the only famous type of music in America during this time period. An American composer by the name of Henry Kimball Hadley write symphonies such as The Four Seasons (M. and V, Ledin 1).
