Religion
During Rutherford’s time, religion, especially Christianity, was a major power throughout the world. Pope Pius XI, the official head of the Catholic Church, signed a treaty with Nazi Germany in 1993 (Bulliet 675). He ordered Catholic German voters to vote for the Nazi party. Another Pope, Pope Leo XII, created the Encyclical Orientalium Dignitas in November 30, 1894.
